Special Education Administrator Meetings


New Special Education Administrator Meetings are designed to create a network for special education administrators and supervisors beginning their first year in this role. During each meeting, participants will gain functional, fundamental information that veteran staff have acquired over the years and increase their knowledge of federal and state requirements. The information and resources will support their efforts to guide staff and increase outcomes for students with disabilities. The meetings will be facilitated by State Support Team Region 1 director Lynn McKahan, M.S.

Meeting Dates & Location


Three dates are currently scheduled: October 4, November 2, and December 12, 2017. All meetings will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West, located at 2275 Collingwood Blvd., in Toledo, Ohio. Additional dates will be scheduled based on participants’ needs.

Registration Options


Participants can register through the Ohio Department of Education’s STARS portal or use the State Support Team Region 1 online registration form. When using STARS, participants must search and register for each individual date. If using the SST form and requesting multiple sessions, answer “yes” to the question “Is the workshop more than one date?” and a field will open where session titles and dates can be added. There is also an area at the bottom of the form for questions.
