PBIS Tier II Training

Girls and Boys in a line. The images have no features, only outlines.

The State Support Team 1 (SST 1) is offering a training for teams that are implementing Tier I of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) with fidelity and are ready to begin Tier II. During the training, teams will learn additional strategies for students needing Tier II supports. Generally, this need is indicated by a student receiving an average of two to five behavior referrals per month. Participants will determine which strategies would work best in their building and create an action plan to begin the interventions.

The training is on October 1, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the BGSU at Levis Commons in Perrysburg, Ohio. Contact hours are available.

PBIS Tier II Training Prerequisite & Information

Prior to attending this training, schools need to have earned at least a 70% in Tier I of the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) within the last year, and their triangle data should indicate at least 80% of their students earned an average of 0-1 behavior referrals per month. If this data is needed, teams should contact Tamie Cruiz to schedule a TFI as
soon as possible.

National PBIS Leadership Forum & Call for Presenters @ Hilton Chicago
Oct 3 – Oct 4 all-day

About the National PBIS Leadership Forum

The National PBIS Leadership Forum is a technical assistance activity of the OSEP Technical Assistance Center on PBIS and provides an opportunity for the Center to share information on the latest applications of PBIS.

Leadership teams early in the process of PBIS implementation will gain information about initiating implementation and obtain examples of successful early development. State and District leadership teams moving toward larger scale implementation will have access to strategies and examples of successful scaling of PBIS including integration of academic and behavioral components of RtI. Leadership teams focused on advanced issues around evaluation, secondary and tertiary content, and coordination of coaching cadres will gain access to examples and strategies that are moving PBIS forward.

Participants will come away from the forum with the knowledge on how to develop/obtain advanced training on a range of topics and how to best organize and deliver training for their schools, districts, and other stakeholders. All sessions will focus on fidelity and implementation and include data and implementation examples. Find more information online.

National PBIS Leadership Forum Call for Presenters

The OSEP Technical Assistance Center for PBIS is inviting submissions for sharing your PBIS implementation experiences through a Poster Presentation at the October 2019 National PBIS Leadership Forum, “PBIS: Supporting Our Most Vulnerable Children & Youth.” The poster presentation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 3rd.

A 36″ X 48″ a tri-fold foam presentation board will be provided for each presentation. Please bring material to attach to the presentation board (i.e., strategies, implementation highlights, sample data) to create your poster. We recommend bringing handouts or other items to enhance your display. If requested in advance, power will be available for you to run your laptop or other electronic device. Our hope is to keep this simple, fun, and informative.

Interested poster presenters should complete the online Poster Presentation Proposal form. All poster proposals will be reviewed for fit with the forum audience and quality. Preference will be given to posters that

  1. emphasize strategies, processes, and outcomes that relate to enhancing systems level implementation of School-wide PBIS at universal, tier II and/or tier III;
  2. include implementation and outcome data; and or
  3. focus on the Forum theme of supporting our most vulnerable children and youth.

Proposals received after the submission deadline, May 31, 2019, will be reviewed as space permits. Submitting poster presenter will be notified of the proposal’s acceptance status via email on June 21, 2019.
