The Regional Transition Network supports schools and cooperating agencies as they work to develop effective transition planning strategies. Through a collaborative effort between State Support Team personnel, guest speakers, and other partners and peers, educators receive coaching to help students prepare for, and achieve successful post-school outcomes in the areas of:
- competitive integrated employment
- education/training
- independent living
Participants will receive important information, news, and updates to improve the fidelity and outcomes of transition planning for students with disabilities, and:
- explore, identify, and use resources to support writing of compliant transition plans with fidelity
- develop and maintain partnerships and programming to support transition-age youth with disabilities
- engage in dialogue and networking opportunities that support cooperative interagency partnerships to promote and support adult behaviors that help to ensure successful post-secondary outcomes for each student

This training opportunity is for Cohorts 2 & 3.
Honor an exemplary educator, educator team, and/or student with disabilities by nominating them for the 2021 Horn Walter Burley Outstanding Achievement Awards.
Ohio public schools, community schools, career centers, and county boards of developmental disabilities are encouraged to recognize the achievements of Ohio educators and students with disabilities by recommending them for these prestigious state awards.
- The R.A. Horn Outstanding Achievement Award recognizes the accomplishments of one exemplary special education student from each of Ohio’s 16 State Support Team regions.
- Franklin B. Walter Outstanding Educator Award is presented to one educator or team from each of Ohio’s 16 State Support Team regions for extraordinary contributions to the education of students with disabilities.
- In addition, the Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities Executive Committee will select an Ohio parent to receive the Margaret M. Burley Award.
The annual Horn Walter Burley Awards are sponsored by the Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities with assistance from Ohio’s State Support Teams.

This training opportunity is for Cohorts 2 & 3.
Schools or districts that choose to complete the PBIS Recognition System Application for 2020-2021 (new or seeking higher level award) must complete the entire application package including the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) and walkthrough. (The TFI and walkthrough may be done virtually for districts or schools with remote learning.)
Important Note: Application materials are due to SST 1 by Saturday, May 1.*
*If you plan to submit a physical binder with your application, it must be received by no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3.
