March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

March 1, 2019 all-day

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. It is a time to increase the public’s awareness and understanding of people who have developmental disabilities so these citizens will have increased access in our communities to employment, education, housing and social opportunities.

Self-Advocate Nate Turner will be a guest Sunday morning on 13abc’s Conklin and Company. The program airs at 11:00 a.m. Nate is the president of SALUTE.

The annual DD Awareness and Advocacy Day is March 5 at the Ohio Statehouse. Scheduled speakers include Governor Mike Dewine and Department of DD Director Jeff Davis. If you are not attending you can still watch the event live on the Ohio Channel website.
