Comprehensive Adolescent Learning Strategies: SIM 2018-2019 Series

Comprehensive Adolescent Learning Strategies

The State Support Team Region 1 is sponsoring Comprehensive Adolescent Learning Strategies, a series designed to support teachers in the use of clear, focused instruction to help students overcome specific learning difficulties that impede literacy.

This professional development series is designed for teachers in grades four through 12, special education intervention specialists, Title I teachers, school administrators, and curriculum specialists who are committed to creating classrooms that accelerate the reading and writing skills of all learners.

The series is presented by Ginna Fall, M.Ed.During this series, teachers will use a toolkit developed by the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning (KUCRL) that meets rigorous evidence-based criteria. Teachers will learn how to sequence instruction, monitor progress, and access instructional procedures to address many of the challenges to student learning.
