Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA) Training (Hybrid)

 

This training is designed for newly hired kindergarten teachers for the 2018-2019 school year who have not received trained and certification in administering the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA).

In this hybrid format, teachers will attend professional development for one day and then complete online assignments, plus the content and simulator assessments following the face-to-face session. This training is presented by Linda Bass-Johnoff, M.Ed.

This training is ONLY for newly hired kindergarten teachers for the 2017-2018 school year who have NOT received trained and certification in administering the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA).

Teachers will attend the training and complete the content and simulation assessments. Topics covered will include the

  • purpose and structure of the assessment,
  • preparation for administration and test security,
  • using the technologies,
  • scoring items,
  • administration for students with disabilities and for English language learners,
  • reporting the assessment results,
  • communicating with families about the results, and
  • using the assessment results to inform instruction.

The training will be conducted from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on August 22, 2018, at the Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West in Toledo, Ohio. Six hours [6] of Ohio-Approved Credit is available for the training.

Note: All participants must bring a laptop loaded with the updated Google Chrome or Firefox browser and headphones.
